Network Engineer - Senior

Y-TECH, LLC is looking for a dynamic, results-driven professional to serve as a Senior Network Engineer in support of one of our Department of Defense Customers with Palo Alto Experience.       

Specific Areas of Responsibility:  
• Lead and/or support major network projects to support new initiatives, capacity, life-cycle management, upgrades, new products and/or features, and integration

• Engage in planning, designing, upgrading, implementing, optimizing and supporting the classified network infrastructure • This includes but is not limited to applying your hands-on experience and expert level knowledge of network firewalls, radius authentication/configuration, WAN and LAN architecture design, development, and diagramming, NAT and troubleshooting, DMZ construction and isolation, VPN technologies, network health monitoring, routing protocols, Type 1 Ethernet/SONET encryptors, DoDiis WAN infrastructure

• Develop and evaluate alternative utilization or configuration options • Develop processes and programs to enhance network performance and reliability • Establish and maintain network analysis and monitoring tools, including fine-tuning, health reporting and alerting • Optimize stability, availability, reliability and performance of networking and telephony infrastructure

• Resolve complex networking and other technology issues with multiple parties involved • Develop process and architecture diagrams  • Have initiative, ask questions, communicate, and be an expert consultant, motivating yourself and others to execute against plans brilliantly • Thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment that requires team interaction and coordination of efforts

• This position requires an active DoD Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred, or equivalent combination of experience and education

• Expertise in planning, designing, and implementing enterprise-level network technologies: 7+ years of progressive experience in network architecture, engineering, and administration, designing, documenting, and implementing large scale solutions. Demonstrated skill in drafting technical network specifications and the design of complex network solutions involving multiple vendors

• 5+ years Engineering and administrating an enterprise level Palo Alto environment • Directly implemented or supported enterprise class Palo Alto Firewalls such as PA-5500 Series Chassis

• Configuration of Network Interfaces and Zones on Palo Alto Firewalls

 • Experience implementing Application Identification(APP-ID) objects • Experienced in Engineering, implementing and troubleshooting • Ability to generate and read packet captures for troubleshooting of data traffic flow • Experience in engineering, implementing and troubleshooting IPsec tunnels on Palo Alto Firewalls

• Fundamental knowledge of encryption to include HTTPS decryption and re-encryption to examine data traffic content • Knowledge of DNS configurations for both the Internet and Microsoft Active Directory

• Demonstrated experience and knowledge of network devices (routers, switches, etc.), including such topics as HTTP headers, ISO layers, and TCP flags

• Experience with establishing authentication with Microsoft Active Directory for identification and control of users and associated policies

• Enterprise level Network Routing protocols such as OSPF and BGP configuration and troubleshooting highly desirable • Ability to drive complex network projects from conception through implementation and from discovery to delivery • Proven ability to develop technical network specifications (requirements, drawings and diagrams)
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with network architecture for LAN and WAN technologies including design, development, and diagram creation • Experience with Cisco network devices, including wired, wireless, routers, switches, load balancer, firewalls, and VoIP

• Experience with network firewalls including Sidewinder, Juniper, and Cisco ASA 5500 series

• Experience with access control protocols, TACACS+ and RADIUS, including authentication and configuration

• Experience with Network Address Translation (NAT) and troubleshooting

• Experience with DMZ construction and isolation

• Experience with VPN technologies

• Experience with network health monitoring, including What’s Up Gold

• Experience with Type 1-certified Ethernet Encryptors • Experience with Synchronous Optical Networking (SONET) and Synchronous Digital Hierarchy (SDH) protocols

• Experience with Department of Defense (DOD) Intelligence Information System (DODIIS) reference model / WAN infrastructure

• Experience with VMware

• Advanced knowledge and experience with routing protocols: TCP/IP, IPv4/IPv6, OSI routing framework

• Experience with PCoIP (PC over IP) remote display protocol • Experience with DSIA STIGs and baselining network devices routers/switches.
